For those wondering who didn't view yesterday's livestream (By the way how was it? I'd love feedback), due to Shino's Dad not coming to SJC MA and us receiving 3 really good entrants right at the deadline, it kind of screwed with our top 3 we already have for dilberation. This has made it difficult to get together and come to a consensus. We'll be talking later tonight/tomorrow and pick out a winner, 2nd, and honorable mention for you guys.

So as you can no doubt guess by the title, our compromise for this year's contest is to create a new squad.

But not just any squad, we want something really special...originality. (A yes I know that sounds really cliche). But honestly, we're tired of giving you guys the template: Previously it was a Sakura & Ino Squad then an Anko State 1 Reinforcement. This year we're letting you pick any 2 characters of your choice for a squad. We want to see what crazy pairs you come up without it being too foreign (As awesome as Tenten & Uchiha Madara squad sounds, it's probably not likely).

That being said, here's the official rules and judging criteria for the contest!

Create-A-Squad Rules
-Each person will be allowed one submission to the contest! If you submit more then one, we will accept the last version you send us until the contest deadline.
-Each person entering will create a "Squad" using any 2 characters from the Naruto CCG of their chosing. You may not use characters that are not from the Naruto universe. Sorry :)
-Each card will be based on the following criteria:
-Card Completeness & Formatting: Does the card have the correct symbols, combat attribute, stats, characteristics, etc.? Is it laid out a like a real genuine Bandai card? Characteristics are correct and in the right order? Effects are properly worded? Does it have the surname? DON'T FORGET THE FLAVOR TEXT PEOPLE.
-Card Balance: Could this be a real Bandai made card? Is it unplayable? Or is it the next Genre-esque card that breaks the format and ruins the game for all of us?
-Originality of Effect: How original is the effect? Is it just a rehash of old effects from previous characters and ideas?
-Originality of Character Choice: How original is the character choice for the squads? Squad choices shouldn't be too obvious (Sasuke & Itachi) but not too farfetched either (Tenten & Madara).
-Write Up: Please submit a short write up (1 or 2 paragraphs is usually sufficient) explaining why you choose these characters for your squad and what your goals were when making the card. Help us get inside your head when you were constructing your masterpiece.
-Please submit your entry using the "Email" button on the right hand side of the bloggy!
-We welcome pictures! While a picture of your card isn't mandatory, we do love our pictures!
-Deadline is 3/23/12. Winners will be announced via The Perfect Curve (either Livestream or Blog) throughout the MA SJC!

Sorry guys but we have to change the contest!

We received an email from Tylar asking us not to use the "Create A New Mechanic" as contest criteria so we'll have to have it changed.

The reason we were given is that there are several mechanics already in the works, according to Tylar. And if someone were to submit a mechanic that is similar to one that will be released in the future, it would create a lawsuit/copyright issue. Additionally, mechanics that are submitted most likely cannot be used in the future or be similar to any entries to the contest.

Sorry for the inconvenience. As soon as we can reach Josh & Nick to change the criteria for the contest, we will.

-Our previews for Set 20 "Tales of the Gallant Sage" have been restored, although the cards we receive will most likely be different than what we originally intended to get. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support of "The Perfect Curve" and I feel without the tremendous showing you guys presented on the Bandai forums, this wouldn't have been possible. We can't thank you enough! :)

-Our "The Perfect Curve Holiday Contest" is still up and running. For those that don't know, we're giving away a box of cards to the winner as well as some cool prizes like mats, super rares, and signed cards by The Perfect Curve staff.

You may submit a card in text or picture form. It must meet the following requirements

Card name is "Anko Mitarashi (State 1)"
Card must have the Lightning & Water Symbol
Card must have the "REINFORCEMENT" characteristic (and matching purple border for you image peoples :P)
The flavor text, turn marker, hand cost, stats, characteristics, surname, and effect are all left up to you. Just complete the card and send it in. Due date is December 17th at 9 PM EST. We'll announce our winners on a special "Holiday" podcast/livestream from Andrew's house.

-The reason for the lack of card image for the "Create-A-Card" contest is because Shino's Dad's internet is out and he has the image. Bare with us if you've been waiting for the picture. I have a backup plan in the works.

-Normally I do not plug Chunins, but this is a special case. Bandai User "WildfireGC" is hosting a Chunin in order to raise money and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer. It is being held in honor of his father, Frank Perkins, who passed away from this very same condition.

The tournament will take place on February 19th, 2011 @ Orccon in Los Angeles, California. $10 Venue Fee as well as $5 tournament entry fee. $3 from each entry fee will be donated to the Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. Please go out and support this event, as it contributes to a very good cause.

-The New Jersey Kage @ "All Things Fun" takes place this weekend. Doors open @ 9 AM. Tournament starts @ 10 AM. Be on time. Have your deck lists/decks sleeved and ready. The sooner you're ready, the sooner we can start, which means the sooner we can all go home and play BlazBlue/Resident Evil DBG.

-"The Perfect Curve" has plans to host a Livestream for the New Jersey Kage. I have to contact the store staff, but it is feasible to do so as I have recently done some slight tweaking.

Here it is as promised! Almost late but still just barely on time! THE PERFECT CURVE HOLIDAY CONTEST!

What is it?

To appreciate our readers, we are holding another contest in a similar fashion to the previous one held back in late October. The prizes are being supplied entirely by me, from my own collection, with the intent on giving back to the community for the holiday season, as well as those who are less fortunate than myself who love this game but may not have all the cards and such that they want.
